At the heart of the Ardoise-Bertrix. The visit of the slate quarry includes a video presenting slate work at the surface and an underground guided tour, going down in a funicular and following a thematic trail 25 m underground. (lasts +/- 1 hr 45)

Possibility of a meal at the Les Ardoisières restaurant or at the 'Hôtel aux Comtes de Chiny' or at the 'Auberge de l'Embarcadère' . (Menu upon request)

Afternoon

Guided and commented descent in small flat bottom boats of the Semois river, between Chiny and Lacuisine, for 8 km. A boatman will steer you in this unique lush green jewel-case sure to make any traveler dream as he drifts amidst a hushed nature, its silence broken only by the fluttering of a fleeing duck or the thump of a boat hook as it strikes a pebble or two.
